Summary About the Position: Position is with the US Army MSCoE Fielded Force Integration Division at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. Located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. It covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, MO. Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2-hour drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield is a little more than an hour's drive to the West of Ft. Leonard Wood. TERM NTE 3 YEARS Responsibilities Serves as Protection Operations and Plans Specialist, Protection Division, Fielded Forces Directorate (FFID), Maneuver Support Center of Excellence (MSCoE). Works directly for the Chief, Protection Force Modernization Proponent (FMP). Incumbent oversees the synchronization of the operations and planning efforts throughout the Division. Works closely with the protection division and other subordinate divisions within the directorate to ensure integration of the numerous protection related functional areas. Coordinates with and provides Center of Excellence level and/or Warfighitng Function level coordinated response to higher headquarters as required via the protection warfighting function task owners (CoEs). Assists the Chief in day-today management of the Division’s operations and plans responsibilities. Lead Protection DOTMLPF-P coordinator and integrator for the division. Focus on coordination, synchronization and execution of the division’s weekly coordination efforts as they pertain to DOTMLFP-P, protection strategy development and maintenance, external doctrine review, and Maneuver Enhancement Brigade support. Plans, defines, develops, and refines product / document packages and ensures products bound for the FFID Director, G3, CoS, and/or the CG are complete. Recommends changes to existing Protection based policies; as directed, briefs and advises other divisions, the FFID director, the Commanding General and other General Officers and Executive Level Personnel. Develops and presents new concepts, plans, annexes policies and procedures for inclusion into the protection strategy. Division lead and expert for DOTMLFP-P solutions and integration pertaining to the SRC 37 training development enterprise. Represents Protection Division at working groups, team meetings, exercise planning sessions, as well as Joint and international meetings. Supports the Maneuver Enhancement Brigade (MEB) Branch as directed. Applies broad knowledge of operational, planning, and scheduling procedures to assists in the accomplishment of tasks and objectives to support emergent and ongoing operations for FFID and the Protection Division. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: performing project management, research, planning and analyses of programs and processes that influence organization improvements; developing strategic short/long term plans, policies and procedures; and coordinating strategic business planning efforts among multiple and complex support program segments. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Manages and Organizes Information Organizational Awareness Organizational Performance Analysis Planning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). All applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcement. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
