FULL-TIME & PART-TIME OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE

Position: Oxbow Bar & Grill – Food Runner/Server Assistant

Location: Fort Myers, FL

Reports to: Oxbow Bar & Grill General Manager, Assistant General Manager, and/or Supervisor

Status: Non-Exempt

Job Summary:

Servers Assistants will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service to all guests that is consistent and continually in accordance with the Luminary Hotel & Co. service standards and standards of Mainsail Lodging & Development. 

Essential Functions

  • Thorough knowledge of Oxbow Bar & Grill steps of service and guest interaction.

  • Serves guests in an efficient courteous manner following the proper steps of service

  • Responsible for setting tables, serving food orders, and removing used plate ware and utensils

  • Food running when applicable, ability to carry plates that may be warm or hot

  • Ability to handle station, or when situations arise, the ability to let manager/supervisor know ahead of time so as not to affect the guest experience

  • Polish glassware, utensils, organize clean and soiled linen

  • Perform other duties as management requests to service our guests

  • Follow Covid-19 guidelines

    Qualification Standards

    Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or higher

  • Previous hospitality experience required

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to use technology e.g. tablets, iPads 

    Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift 20 pounds or more

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time

  • Ability to communicate clearly

  • Corrected vision to normal range

  • Ability to work long hours as needed

  • Ability to navigate steps to upstairs event space as well as the upstairs deck

    Mental Demands

  • Make sound judgments quickly

  • Work on multiple tasks, making appropriate progress towards deadlines

  • Able to work independently, take direction, and provide direction to others

  • Manage differing personalities within the office, the hotel, and the community

  • Maintain the highest degree of confidentiality

  • Ability to work effectively in stressful, high-pressure situations

  • Ability to effectively handle challenges in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary

    NOTICE:  The hotel business functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day.  All employees must realize this fact and be aware that at all times it may be necessary to move associates from their accustomed shift as business demands.  In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
