Parkview North Hospital Pharmacy Technician in Fort Wayne, Indiana

The pharmacy department at Parkview Health is looking for highly motivated and reliable candidates to join the pharmacy team. There are opportunities to train and staff in multiple pharmacy technician functions in inpatient pharmacy practice. Additionally, the pharmacy department offers a Career Path with incentives provided for national certification and cross-training in advanced technician roles. Complete the entire Career Path and you can potentially earn an additional $5,200 annually on top of shift differentials, frequent salary increases, and routine range adjustments.

Summary: Provides world-class pharmacy services while assisting the Pharmacist in assigned areas of drug procurement, preparation, storage, inventory control, distribution, orders, and dispensing.

Primary Functions:

  • Monitor and replenish medication inventory using automated dispensing cabinets and inventory management technology

  • Prepare compounded sterile products

  • Maintain controlled substance inventory with high accountability and accurate documentation

  • Communicate medication needs with pharmacist and nursing staff

Shift/Location: Vacation Relief

  • Rotates through day shift, evening shift, and night shift positions as scheduling demands. Schedule is posted in 4-week increments – between 4 and 8 weeks of schedule posted at any time.

  • Staff at multiple facilities including but not limited to Parkview Regional Medical Center, Parkview Hospital Randallia, Parkview Behavioral Health, and Parkview Southwest Outpatient Center within Allen County.

Education: High school graduate or equivalent GED required. Successful completion of algebra, clerical, and science courses preferred. Computer classes and experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Must have or be eligible for an Indiana Board of Pharmacy Tech in Training license or a current State Board of Indiana license as a Pharmacy Technician or Intern. A Tech in Training program is offered internally. Full Technician or Intern licensure must be obtained within 1 year of employment.

Experience: One year pharmacy experience and/or pharmacy technician oriented formal class work preferred.
