Our Energy & Transportation (E&T) segment has a broad portfolio of products and services - which include engines, generator sets, industrial gas turbines and locomotives, along with other related equipment depending on the industry and application. We deliver these products and services to Cat machine, oil & gas, power generation, transportation and industrial customers. E&T is also developing the advanced power sources of the future and is working on many solutions to help our customers lower their carbon footprint.

SPM Oil & Gas, A Caterpillar Company, headquartered near Fort Worth, Texas, is a key component to the E&T portfolio and produces a full line of pumps, flow iron, consumable parts, wellhead and pressure control products that are offered via an extensive global network of service centers. SPM Oil & Gas is focused on our strategy of providing our customers expanded offerings and services which will now be one of the broadest in the well service industry.

This supervisory role will primarily be responsible for providing leadership over Accounts Receivable (AR) tasks related to collections and credit reviews. This role will provide leadership to two Accounting Associates and an AR Assistant whose main responsibilities are managing the process for timely payments of customer invoices and reconciling customer statements, along with ensuring accurate records and reports. The team works directly with external customers, the internal sales team, and with others on the SPM Oil & Gas Business Resources team.

What You Will Do:

  • Producing accurate and timely financial reports related to AR, for internal use, in accordance with GAAP and in compliance with section 404 of Sarbanes-Oxley Act

  • Preparing or leading preparation of reports which summarize and forecast financial position in all areas of AR

  • Ensuring the accounting policies and practices of the organization are followed; working closely with internal auditors, public accountants, state tax examiners, and other financial professionals ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization

  • Overseeing and evaluating the activities of the AR staff, and providing for their professional development; analyzing and solving accounting problems

  • Participating in ad hoc projects and analysis as needed

What You Have:

  • Education/Experience: This position typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or business related degree and 5+ years of job related experience. Previous supervisory experience is preferred.

  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

  • Managing People : Knowledge of processes involved in managing people; ability to lead successful teams, and diligently address issues related to performance and conflicts at the workplace.

  • Financial Reporting : Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.

Additional Details:

  • Location: Fort Worth, TX

  • Domestic relocation is available for those who qualify

  • This role is a full time, Hybrid position and currently requires 3 days a week in office

  • Travel expectation < 5%
