We are seeking an experienced Automation Instrumentation Engineer to lead the charge in hardware design for our growing automation engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for architecting and implementing hardware solutions that align with the automation strategy and collaborating with different teams to carry-out automation projects.

You will make an impact by:

• Designing hardware solutions for automation projects and integration control schemes in a manufacturing factory environment.

• Spec’ing instrumentation, sensors, cable, raceway, and other hardware for full automation/robotics design.

• Drafting installation drawings for hardware solutions and troubleshooting hardware issues in the field.

• Designing an industrial network architecture for automation/robotics projects as well as scoping and estimating hardware for automation/robotics projects.

• Programming PLCs, executing electrical design and Commissioning hardware solutions.

• Collaborating with 3 rd party vendors and system integrators for automation/robotics solutions.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent with a minimum of 3+ years of experience in factory automation projects and control systems – i.e. Manufacturing, automotive, food and beverage, or biopharmaceuticals.

• Proven experience with automation/electrical design including sensors, connections, cables, control panels, electrical design including one-line diagrams, electrical schedules, NEC, and UL standards.

• Understanding of industrial network communication protocols including Profinet, Modbus, OPC UA, and IO-Link.

• Understanding of control systems integration and proven experience with Siemens S7 PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, MES, IIOT, and key Industry 4.0 objectives.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with Robotics, AGVs/AMRs, and/or vision systems.

• Automation scoping/estimation experience.

• Experience in electrical design.

• Experience working with stakeholders to convert requirements into solutions.

• Is a team player, critical thinker, and can collaborate with others to solve challenging problems.

• The pay range for this position is $81,130 - $139,080. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
