This is a leadership role with responsibility over an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, analyzes accounting and internal control systems, and guides departmental staff. The permanent Controller position is situated in the Fort Worth, Texas area.
What you get to do every day
Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Complete tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection
Inspect deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective
Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports
Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed
Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Requirements
Construction/Manufacturing industry desired
Billing Functions experience required
Strong familiarity with financial statement preparation
Full Cycle Accounting experience desired
Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
