The Regional Credit Analysis Manager manages and monitors the operations and workflow of the credit analysts within the assigned region, product type, or industry. This position manages team performance in efficiently and effectively analyzing credit data using financial, market, industry, and asset-specific information/metrics, appropriately presenting information in underwriting, and accessing risk when granting credit to firms or individuals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Oversee the workflow of the credit analysts within the region, or team, to ensure accurate and timely completion of work product. This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time.

  2. Oversee the consistency and quality of the credit analysts' cash flow analysis, credit memos, annual reviews, and covenant calculations, or other work product performed within the area of responsibility using department and/or company established best practices, guidelines, policies and procedures. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.

  3. Partner with other CA leaders, regional leaders and managers on development of best practices, tools, processes, or special projects to improve efficiency and effectiveness of credit analysis work product. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.

  4. Act as back up for other Credit Analysis Regional Managers or Team Leads as necessary in work flow management and review of Credit Analysis work products. This duty is performed as needed, about 2% of the time.

  5. Manage credit analyst team staffing, including interviewing, hiring, and performance reviews in alignment with Director of Credit Analysis' guidance. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.

  6. Attend loan committees for specific Region, Product Type, or Industry and others as appropriate in performance of job responsibilities. This duty is performed weekly, about 7% of the time.

  7. Manage communications with credit analyst team to provide current status of operational activities and credit analysis quality and volume. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.

  8. Maintain working knowledge and practical experience with operational system applications, spreadsheets, and analytical tools designed to prepare financial spreads and to quantify borrowers personal, global and real estate debt service abilities. This duty is performed as needed.

  9. Remain knowledgeable and maintain practical experience with operational systems to present narrative analysis of findings in credit memos, annual reviews and other credit related documents. This duty is performed as needed.

  10. Oversee the credit analysts monitoring of annual reviews, borrowing base certificates, and loan covenant compliance for respective regions, or team as directed by Director of Credit Analysis or their designee. This duty is performed monthly, about 5% of the time.

  11. Partner with CA Technology, Training and Reporting Manager as needed to support mentoring of trainees and ongoing training for CA team members. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.

  12. Ensure the assigned Credit Analyst team are aware of policy and procedural updates and changes. This duty is performed as needed, about 5% of the time.

  13. Provide internal reports required for Third Party Governance vendor reviews and vendor due diligence as directed by the Director of Credit Analysis. This duty is performed as needed, about 2% of the time.

  14. Work with the Director of CA to contribute to the development of the credit analyst team's KPIs and KRIs. This duty is performed monthly, about 2% of the time.

  15. Maintain control inventory related to risk assessments as directed by the Director of CA as may be requested. This duty is performed as needed, about 2% of the time.

  16. Complete required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned. This duty is performed daily.

  17. The ability to work in a constant state f alertness and in a safe manner. This duty is performed quarterly.

  18. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four year college degree, plus 7 years related experience and/or training, and 7 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to read, analyze, and understand common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents; ability to respond to complex or difficult inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format; ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS

Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal, logical or scientific symbolism such as formulas, scientific equations, and graphs. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
