We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell V-280 Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA), part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless, and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop-fold tilt-rotor.

Human Factors Engineering (across multiple levels):

Bring your experience and ideas and help us developthe pilot / vehicle interface on manned and optionally manned aircraft.

You’ll work with anthropometric requirements and pilot input to create task analysis and simulations to inform how our pilots and passenger interface with the aircraft and aircraft controls.

This role will be an integral part of the team, working closely the customer, other Integrated Product Teams, and subcontractors.

You’ll be able to hone your technical abilities on significant engineering problems, all while gaining experience in leadership and communication.

This position is onsite in Fort Worth, TX.

What you’ll be doing as a Human Factors Engineer:

  • Reviewing MIL-STD-1472 for guidance on complying with proposed design solutions.

  • Work closely with Bell engineers and pilots to establish system design, operating, and training requirements to ensure optimized human-machine interfaces.

  • Work closely with other teams to complete design trade studies while maintaining operability and maintainability.

  • Actively engage with other IPTs to provide continuous evaluation of the design evolution always looking for Human Factors compliance and improvements.

  • Support simulation, lab, and aircraft test activities to evaluate and improve proposed designs.

Qualifications

Skills You Bring To this Role:

  • Previous experience producing requirement specification documents.

  • Knowledge of human performance principles, methodologies, and technologies.

  • Capability of interfacing with design engineers to establish system design, operating, and training requirements to ensure optimized human-machine interfaces.

  • Excellent communicator, must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers and other Integrated Product Team members, as well as brief leaders/customers.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

What You Need to be Successful:

  • We are looking for inquisitive and driven engineers with a passion to innovate.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Psychology or Industrial Engineering. Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience. Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered.

  • At least 2 years of experience in human factors engineering, with more experience as a plus
