TWINING LABORATORIES OF SO. CAL. Controller in Fountain Valley, California

Twining Holdings, LLC, an innovative full-service engineering company with unmatched expertise in material testing, inspection, applied engineering, and integrated disciplines over 125 years of history, is seeking a Controller for our office in Fountain Valley, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the oversight of the full cycle of accounting processes, development of internal controls, providing guidelines to financial activities, analytical support to numerous departments, including the operations and executive team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the months closing processes and ensure timely preparation of accurate financial statements.
  • Ensure GAAP-compliant financial reporting of entities operating results.
  • Review quarterly and monthly balance sheet reconciliation to the general ledgers, sub-ledgers and construct supporting files.
  • Evaluate proper internal controls of significant processes and implement new processes as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain divisional costing and control procedures.
  • Monthly review of project-based gross margins report, collaborate with operating team and PandL analysis.
  • Assist the CFO and leadership team to develop long-term financial strategies based on articulated accounting, finance, and treasure outputs.
  • Assistance with external financial statements auditor work and managing the banking compliance.
  • Supports office personnel to streamline departmental functions to promote efficient work environment.

Required Competencies:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or other business discipline with an emphasis in accounting.
  • Minimum of 10 years accounting experience with 4 years of managerial/leadership responsibilities preferred.
  • Public accounting experience or CPA credential is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and concepts, GAAP and services industry.
  • Proficiency in basic PC applications, including MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Deltek Vision, Vantage Point or similar system is preferred.
  • Attention to detail in preparing and analyzing financial reports, including compilation of the balance sheets, income statements and cashflow statements to deliver with precision.
  • Ability to take charge of responsibilities and agility to ensure accurate and timely completion of required tasks.
  • Demonstrate ability to collaborate and work as part of a team while bringing positive influence as a leader.
  • Maintain flexibility with respect to assigned tasks due to changing deadlines, deliverables and priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to articulate financial data and implications.
  • Exhibits an advanced ability to analyze problems, apply critical thinking skills, and develop strategies to solve them.
