The Department of Corrections (DOC), Bureau of Quality Assurance is actively seeking an Accountant 2 to provide budgetary and auditing support within the Business Office at State Correctional Institute (SCI) Mahanoy. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an Accountant 2, you will perform complex accounting duties to ensure the efficient operation of the Business Office. Responsibilities include: Gathering information and developing annual budgets, re-budgets, monthly budget projections, and year-end miscellaneous encumbrances for submission to the Division of Fiscal Management, Auditing the bank statement for Wernersville Community Correctional Center (CCC), Coordinating audits with the Auditor General's Office, Monitoring agency purchase orders and reconciling monthly bank charges, Processing and monitoring invoices for the warehouse, Verifying receipt of services or goods, accuracy of charges or credits, purchase document reference, availability of funds, and goods receipts, Preparing advancement account checks, and Auditing and approving or declining purchasing card charges.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Accountant 1; or Two years of professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting. Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation. A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience. Other Requirements: You must meet the .
