DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Locksmith for the Department of Corrections, you are responsible for the maintenance and repair of all locking systems and locking devices in the institution, inside and out. This includes all sliding doors, grills, gates, Sally Port gates, and yard gates. Also, all grills, gates and sliding doors with tracks, bearings, drive chains, electric motors, gear drives and bushings in addition to the locking devices.

You also oversee inmates in the performance of non-security related tasks such as moving materials, hanging doors, and repairing door closures. You maintain accurate training, attendance, and wage records; and may be required to search both inmates and work areas for contraband.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 40-hour work week Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday. Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary. Two years of experience in the locksmith trade; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Additional Requirement:
