Job purpose

Raw Production Supervisors oversee the entire room. They are held accountable to produce outputs and operating activities for food products. Raw Production Supervisors are also always striving to meet their goals to obtain maximum efficiency at a low cost within specified standards.

Essential Job Functions

``` - Responsible for establishing and executing policies, procedures, and programs that ensure products are developed, manufactured, and marketed with superior quality in compliance with in-house specifications and all applicable legal and regulatory agencies. - Assist in the development of raw material specifications. - Assure product specs are being followed.

``` - Perform pre-operational and/or operational sanitation. - Develop and maintain a successful staff through selection, training, leadership, and motivation. - Collect data as needed, manage product evaluations and report findings to management. - Responsible for maintaining relevant technical expertise and continually establishing an up-to-date awareness of evolving quality control. - Employee discipline-related paperwork (i.e., Discipline Log, Discipline Notice, etc.). - Communicate with Team Leader, if applicable, to dismiss Room for breaks, lunch, and shift end. - Fill-in in the absence of Production Room employees. - Write and deliver employee performance reviews. - Posting overtime sign-up sheets and voluntary hours reduction notices. - Notify employees of schedule changes (i.e., mandatory overtime, closures, etc.). - Time Off Requests accepted from employees and turned into HR daily. - Perform and enforce Lock out, Tag out procedures. - Oversee and document special washes. - Participate in weekly Supervisor Meeting. - Employee must be physically present at work, on time and able to perform job duties in a diligent fashion. - Involvement with inventory management system. - Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Job history of food safety and food handling preferred.
  • The ability to work at a fast pace.
  • Organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to direct, coach, and train employees as well as plan, monitor, and schedule work.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Flexible availability.

Working conditions

  • Working inside a regulated refrigerated room that may be cold (55 degrees) to some individuals for a minimum of eight hours.
  • Employees must take certain safety measures when working with machinery inside of the rooms.
  • It is a USDA environment requiring all employees to abide by specific regulations.

Physical requirements

  • Ability to stand on concrete floor for 8 hours or more in a workday.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. multiple times within a workday.
  • Ability to lift, twist, turn, and bend multiple times within a workday.

  • Minimal travel expected.
