Are you up for the challenge?

Due to continued success and ambitious growth plans, there is now an opening for an experienced Public Sector Lawyer (8 PQE+) with experience within a comparable environment across contentious regulatory matters and non-contentious advisory work to both regulators and public sector clients.

This represents a unique opportunity for an established lawyer to play a key role in driving the growth of the Public Sector Regulatory practice in Germany. This role will focus on a mixture of public procurement practices, contracting and laws as well as the development of ServiceNow's go-to market public sector strategy.

What you get to do in this role: *  *

  • Review and negotiate complex public procurement and enterprise customer sales agreements that meet the company’s requirements under its policies, including those for risk tolerance, while working collaboratively with the business team, including various executives.

  • Advising on regulatory laws and matters

  • Acting as legal assessor and advising on regulatory requirements and complex legal issues

  • Preparing drafts on complex areas of public regulatory law;

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as finance, sales operations, deal desk, product operations, support, security and other business units at all levels throughout the organisation to ensure that agreements adequately protect the company’s interests.

  • Support the continuous improvement of standard and regulatory forms of agreement and legal processes.

  • Be a trusted and credible business partner, responding in a timely and productive manner to requests from internal customers.

  • Counsel internal customers regarding company policies, legal issues, and risk tolerance.

  • Occasional travels in EMEA

To be successful in this role you have:

  • High level of relevant legal experience

  • In-house commercial contracting experience dealing with SaaS or software licensing transactions and supporting a Sales organisation

  • Experience with public procurement in Germany

  • Strong experience in acting with regulators, with a particular focus on public procurement

  • Excellent negotiating and influencing skills, and a talent for non-confrontational, win-win negotiations

  • Exceptional critical thinking abilities, who possesses strong business acumen and excellent business judgment; must be able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and pivot between responsibilities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to distil complex issues clearly and communicate well both one-on-one and in groups, and in internal and external contexts

  • Desire for close collaboration with sales and sales support to close deals efficiently, with a practical approach

  • Proficient drafting and legal technical skills, with keen attention to detail

  • Consultative and thorough in approach

  • Ability to engage and influence clients and be a confident stakeholder both internally and externally

  • German law degree or other proven track record of knowledge of German law

  • Fluent in German and English
