NORTHWESTERN MUTUAL LIFE INSURANCE Senior Systems Engineer in FRANKLIN, Wisconsin
JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Senior Systems Engineer at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Franklin, WI will design system solutions, implement new features, and resolve complex technical incidents. Develop, maintain, and execute on disaster recovery and redundancy strategies. Create CI/CD pipelines for code movement between Informatica and Qlik environments. Automate using GitLab, Ansible, Docker and Terraform. Configure High Availability and Load balancing to Informatica PowerCenter, Data Quality and Qlik environments. Build self-service pages for developers for creating connections, adding users to groups, and adding folders in Informatica. Automate user onboarding tasks in Qlik such as providing restart capability, creating endpoint connections, task automation and product installation. Replace Informatica PowerExchange product with CDC solution Qlik. Install and upgrade new versions of Informatica and Qlik to provide new capabilities to end users. Install and configure Informatica Operational Insights monitoring tool. Ingest Informatica and Qlik logs to enterprise monitoring system called ELK and configure alerting. Create dashboards in ELK and Dynatrace to improve visibility of Informatica environments to application teams. Create shell scripts for monitoring and maintenance of Informatica and Qlik environments and implementing auto-healing and auto-ticketing in case of failures. Work on implementing automated checkouts for Informatica environments. Monitor high-risk vulnerabilities in Informatica and Qlik and address related issues. Tune file system I/O and resource usages on Informatica servers. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week. Requires a Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field plus 5 years of experience as a software developer or related occupation. 5 years of experience must include 5 years of experience with each of the following: (1) OS and hosting platforms; (2) performance tuning of application stacks; (3) virtualization and containerization; (4) monitoring and performance management of systems; (5) scripting development; (6) AWS, Kubernetes, Linux, and Windows administration and configuration; (7) Cloud based PaaS and SaaS platforms and integration points; (8) Data movement with Informatica and Qlik; and (9) Automation using CICD tools including GitLab, Ansible, Docker and Terraform.
