The Community YMCA Welcome Center Associate in Freehold, New Jersey

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Be welcoming friendly, courteous and attentive to members in a timely and professional manner. Make every effort to build relationships with and engage members in conversation when possible. Assist to promote Y programs and Y events.

  • Embrace and adhere to service excellence standards; staying current on YMCA services, programs and events in order to provide outstanding service to your customers and constituents.

  • Answer phones and phone messages in a professional and timely manner, trying to understand the caller’s needs to assist them before directing calls to appropriate department and/or person.

  • Responsible for providing facility tours to prospective members by following established tour guidelines.

  • Direct and assist member/visitors. Temperature Taking/Wellness Questionnaire Taking Assignments.

  • Responsible for being able to utilize the Daxko system to check members in, sell memberships, update member information, look up membership information, register participants into programs, as well as closing out your shift and running a shift report.

  • Process and record all cash receipts: new memberships, membership renewals, program registration, merchandise and gift certificates, etc. follow receipting and deposit procedures.

  • Assist with front desk tasks such as filing, making return phone calls and mailings.

  • May be assigned areas to count people, help direct flow of traffic in an area, being assigned to a specific area to assist with doors, and any other duty as needed by the organization.

  • Enhanced cleaning in areas where the employee is not directly/normally assigned as well as normally assigned areas. All employees are expected to assist in and support the efforts of the YGMC when it comes to health and wellness for the facility and other locations where the YGMC conducts business.

  • Follow Covid safety procedures such as wearing appropriate mask and personal protective equipment as required.

  • Minimum age of 18

  • Possess a high school diploma or GED

  • Previous customer service, sales or related experience

  • Basic knowledge of computers.

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • CPR, 1st Aid, Epi-pen, & AED certified preferred.
