The Senior Accountant furthers the company's goals through the preparation and consolidation of financial statements, the analysis and reconciliations of accounts, and the analysis of cash flow, as well as the creation of budgets and forecasts, preparation of audits, and management of internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. What you get to do every single day
Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests
Present analysis on financial results such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.
Partake in various department-wide initiatives
Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Allocate and prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis reports for management
Provide monthly accounting closure procedures and deliverables, which includes journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Adherence to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process Requirements
Construction Industry Experience
Current and relevant ERP system experience
SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience
5+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
Detailed and have the ability work independently
Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
Vow to meet business deadlines
Knowledge of month end closings
Strong familiarity with Fixed Asset Accounting
General ledger experience desired
Fixed Asset Accounting experience
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
