Job Overview

The Senior Director of Transformation and Productivity plays a pivotal role in steering the US Refreshment Beverage (USRB) sector's Supply Chain Transformation and Productivity agenda. This position is responsible for shaping and executing a comprehensive strategy that propels critical growth, continuity, and sustainability initiatives to meet objectives in revenue expansion, operating income enhancement, and Corporate Sustainability commitments.

Tasked with the oversight of the USRB Supply Chain's productivity agenda, the role ensures that both gross and net productivity objectives are achieved in alignment with the organization's financial aspirations. This role demands a strategic approach to materials management across Direct Store Delivery (DSD) and Warehouse Delivery (WD) networks, aiming to reduce working capital, elevate service levels, and minimize product obsolescence.

The role fosters improvement by adopting flexible, rapid strategies and advocating for fully variable costs, contributing to advancements in per-unit rates, customer satisfaction, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and downtime while optimizing maintenance expenses.

In addition to these duties, this role will craft a Supply Chain Strategy for KDP USRB that aspires to top-tier performance benchmarks. The role encompasses strategic planning, emphasizing employee engagement and job satisfaction through deliberate involvement, and upholding diversity and inclusion within the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) framework.

As an integral part of the USRB Beverage Supply Chain Operations team, the Senior Director collaborates with the VPs of Operations for DSD and WD, Productivity, Program Management, and Engineering to foster and implement cohesive strategies. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of US Refreshment Beverages Supply Chain, the Senior Director is instrumental in guiding the Supply Chain's direction and achievements.

Responsibilities

  • Own and Deliver Underlying Strategy: Lead the team in effectively executing plans to develop aligned capabilities and management systems.

  • Architect the Overall Transformation Plan: Create and oversee the transformation plan aimed at delivering top-line and bottom-line improvements through year-over-year enhancements in service and reductions in cost per unit.

  • Drive KDP USRB Productivity: Enable 17 manufacturing plants to achieve their specific annual productivity targets.

  • Ensure Productivity Pipeline Readiness: Make sure the KDP USRB productivity pipeline is prepared to meet current and future productivity targets.

  • Deliver Design-to-Value (DtV): Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Packaging Engineering, and Central Productivity Teams to achieve DtV goals for the current year and beyond.

  • Manage Obsolescence Costs: Continuously reduce obsolescence costs related to ingredients, materials, and finished goods.

  • Optimize Staffing and Cost Control: Work in partnership with Labor and Capacity Planning to ensure that the 17 manufacturing plants are appropriately staffed based on business needs, while maintaining variable cost control in response to network volume volatility.

  • Enhance KDP USRB Performance: Establish regular connections with DSD, WD, CI, Engineering, and HR Leaders to drive performance improvement.

  • Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with Long-Range Planning, Commercial Engineering, and WD & DSD Teams to develop and sustain a 10-year NorthStar strategy for KDP USRB, including the KDP USRB/Cold Obeya Room.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technical/Engineering discipline. Master’s degree in business or engineering management a plus

  • Project management certification a plus

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a combination of manufacturing and engineering

  • High degree of curiosity

  • Demonstrated management experience and performance improvement in equipment maintenance and reliability.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence groups.

  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across a broad variety of departments

  • Excellent negotiation skills

  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with self-motivation and focused attention to detail positively and comfortably.

  • Organizational and customer service skills essential

  • Must be comfortable developing and conducting group presentations.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to propose solutions to problems.

  • Must be able to travel, work in a team environment, and occasionally work a flexible schedule.

  • Commitment to follow KDP policies and procedures.

  • Excellent leadership skills with a proven track record of leading teams and managing large-scale projects.

  • Ability to develop and implement effective maintenance strategies.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to equipment and facilities maintenance.

  • Experience in the food and beverage industry is preferred.

  • Key Performance Indicators are; engagement, absenteeism, retention, recruiting, safety incidents, customer fill rate, cost per case, cases per labor hour, cases per maintenance labor hour, budget attainment, gross productivity, productivity net of commodity (PNOC)
