Classification Title:
UF Information Technology (UFIT) is seeking an individual to serve as an entry-level student assistant to work as a transcriptionist and/or captioning assistant. They will help with transcribing and creating closed captioning for course lectures and other captioning services. They will also help deliver online lecture content for students with closed captioning accommodations and departmental closed captioning needs. Occasionally, they will assist the captioning manager in accepting requests for captioning.
Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:
Required typing skills: 60 correct words per minute, with a high accuracy rate
Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and closed captioning standards

Expected Salary:
$14.00 per hour
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.
