The National Security Sector at Leidos is currently hiring for a Principal / Senior SecDevOps Engineer for an Agile, cloud-based data, and analytics platform contract. You will lead the team in Agile methodologies to deliver the solution, emphasizing the frequent, incremental release of system software, features, and updates in many small deployments rather than in fewer, larger releases. This role is expected to be on-site at a Leidos facility in Gaithersburg, MD, with travel to various government sites in the Washington Metro Area. This opportunity is contingent upon contract award.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop, prototype and deploy solutions within Azure Cloud Solutions leveraging Infrastructure platform services.

  • Individual must have a broad understanding of system development, operations and maintenance.

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and system administration experience.

  • Python Coding skills to be able to automate infrastructure and deployment functions.

  • Have experience with DevOps pipeline and IaC-based tools/frameworks such as Terraform, Pulumi, Puppet, Jenkins, or similar.

  • Understand advanced software development practices, and have a solid knowledge of and experience with Bash, Puppet, Groovy, YAML, JSON, Java, and Python.

  • Be able to assess and improve upon existing DevOps/CI/CD processes to move the program forward.

  • Coordinate closely with team members, Product Owners and Scrum Masters to ensure User Story alignment and implementation to customer use cases.

  • Document and Perform systems software development, including deployment of build artifacts across different environments.

  • Communicate key project data to team members and build team cohesion and effectiveness.

  • Design, build, and improve a set of team owned apps, services, or components

  • Create innovative solutions to meet the technical needs of customers.

  • Guide the team in designing, building, testing, and deploying changes to existing software.

  • Write clear, scalable code and design documentation.

What does Leidos need from me?

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have a Green Card.

  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance (Background Investigation).

  • BS degree and 12 to 15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 to 13 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Five years of experience with Agile IT product management and delivery (Agile delivery experience must be within the last year), Agile Methodologies and Best Practices.

  • DevOps tools experience including GitLab, Confluence, and Jira.

  • Object-oriented programming languages (Python, Java, etc.).

  • Python Library Development.

  • Microsoft Azure or AWS Cloud Environment.

  • Databases (relational or NoSQL).

  • Python, Spark, and/or SQL Scala Programming.

  • Databricks.

  • Expert in the software development lifecycle, with experience delivering within DevOps toolsets/practices.

  • Direct experience utilizing software testing performance tools, such as J-unit.

  • Experience working in an Agile development environment and tempo.

  • Experience with development in Commercial Cloud Platforms (ex, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).

  • Experience with development leveraging cloud data services.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Well versed with using version control systems.

  • Well versed with using issue/problem tracking systems.

  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence and Agile development methods.

  • System Administration/Privileged Access duties.

Favorable if you have:

  • Five years of experience with Agile IT product delivery

  • Agile delivery experience, Agile Methodologies and Best Practices

  • Data Analysis, Data Engineering, Data Science

  • Decision Analysis and Support

  • Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) Experience

  • Evaluation Methods

  • Quality Assurance

  • Machine Learning (e.g., regression, classification, deep learning, unsupervised learning) and/or Machine Learning Model Development

  • Business processes and tools utilized in a federal program of U.S. Government

  • Producing deliverables in alternate formats including Microsoft 365, SharePoint

Pay Range:

Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00
