WSP USA Bilingual (French/English) Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Consultant in Gatineau, Quebec

WSP is seeking a Bilingual (French/English) Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Consultant , to join our Ontario EHS Compliance Team and Technical Community in the National Capital Region (flexible home office location and hybrid work environment).

The successful candidate will work on projects involving EHS and sustainability management. The EHS Consultant will be involved in a broad range of projects helping to support our clients goals of EHS performance improvement.

What you can expect to do here:

  • Supporting multi-discipline EHS projects across a variety of sectors. Specific consulting services provided may include the following depending on the candidates interests and expertise:

  • Hazardous Materials Management Services and Expertise

  • Indoor Air Quality Services and Expertise

  • Occupational Heath & Industrial Hygiene Services and Expertise

  • Providing Radiation Measurement and/or Mitigation Services and Expertise

  • Project Management and Coordination Services and Expertise

  • Providing EHS Compliance Auditing and Management System Services and Expertise

  • Providing Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) Services and Expertise

  • Written and oral communication both within multi-disciplinary teams and with clients.

  • Project and proposal completion, including (but not limited to) project finances, schedule, deliverables, and working as part of multi-disciplinary teams, as well as client/sub-contractor relationships.

  • Supporting business development, including developing marketing plans, tools, and initiatives with senior staff members and the broader EHS team.

  • Work under the direction of senior staff to complete business plan objectives at the local, regional, and global scale.

  • Ability to work weekends and evenings as required to meet project commitments and travel for extended periods of time (1 to 2 weeks at a time).

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Health and safety or environmental sciences or engineering as demonstrated by a post-secondary degree and/or demonstrated expertise in EHS consulting (minimum 3 years of experience).

  • Occupational health and safety and environmental legislation.

  • Working knowledge of occupational hygiene practices.

  • Organizing and providing support during meetings involving participation from stakeholders and demonstrated experience summarizing and presenting results with an emphasis on written communication.

  • Computer skills for data management and manipulation including strong familiarity with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
