Carrier Building Technologies is looking for a qualified candidate to serve in a Carrier Controls Product Sales Manager role providing ongoing support for our Carrier i-Vu controls channel partners. Carrier’s i-Vu Building Automation System is an industry-leading comprehensive offering in the BAS space and a strategic component of Carrier’s growth strategy. Individuals with strong field office-level experience in the building automation and controls business segment will be preferred candidates.

About this role:

The Carrier Controls Product Sales Manager position is a Sales Support role and has commercial and technical responsibility for all assigned products, tools, and applications. The Product Sales Manager is in constant contact with the internal R&D, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Regional Sales Manager Teams. Their first responsibility is to prepare products for field readiness, develop positioning that differentiates our products in the market, and ensure our various sales teams and channels have the needed collateral, tools, and knowledge to deliver our products to their corresponding markets. Additionally, you will collect, merge, and provide VOC to ensure market needs are being considered and incorporated into product roadmaps. The position reports to the Carrier Commercial Controls Sales Leader.

The Carrier Controls Product Sales Manager position will have responsibility for managing select products and providing sales support to Carrier Distribution selling offices throughout North America. In the role of Controls Product Sales Manager, you will be the expert on buyers - how they buy, their buying criteria and you will transfer that knowledge to the sales channel. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who will work effectively with a wide range of administrative, sales, and account management responsibilities. The candidate should have technical and operational experience in the BMS sector as well as the ability to anticipate the needs of customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and promote standard methodologies across the region

  • Manage select products in the Carrier Controls portfolio

  • Manage pre-sale software/tools

  • Provide product demonstrations

  • Provide presentations over a variety of platforms (In Person, Remote Webinar, etc..)

  • Work across internal teams to support training, sales & technical requirements.

  • Provide counsel to Distribution and Controls Expert Contractors in support of products & tools

  • Provide/participate in sales and product training to sales offices.

  • Provide pre-sale product support.

  • Provide counsel to resellers (specification interpretation, business/sales strategy, etc.)

  • Maintain knowledge of Market Trends, Industry Standards & Codes

  • Travel as required within North America (10% – 25%)

  • Participate in in-house factory initiatives as needed (i.e. ACE Pilot, CRM tool, etc.)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 7+ years of experience in the HVAC & Building Management Systems Market

  • Travel as required within North America (10% – 25%)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Building Automation systems

  • Experience estimating and designing control systems.

  • Flexibility with regard to job duties (those listed, and others as assigned by supervisor)

  • Ability to handle several tasks at a time and deliver consistently.

  • Detail-oriented project manager

  • Dedicated problem solver

  • Excellent analytical, and computer technical skills

  • Ability to develop constructive and collaborative working relationships across functional teams

  • Up to date on new technologies and ability to apply new knowledge and techniques to the job

  • Capable of working independently and comfortable making decisions

  • Use and familiarity with the following software packages: MS Office – Outlook (power user), Excel (power user), PowerPoint (power user), Word, Visio, Salesforce.com

  • Camtasia or other video recording/editing software is a plus
