Job Description
EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for an Electrician in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position will be located at our offices in Germantown, MD.
Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and test electrical systems including defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment.
Use test instruments such as ammeter, ohmmeter, and voltmeter.
Complete daily maintenance checks and work assignments which may include but not limited to: installation of motors, transformers, lighting fixtures, cable trays and complete circuits according to diagram specifications and Blueprints.
Additional duties may include general building maintenance.
Complete work in a craftsmen-like manner in within local building and NEC codes as well as company specifications
May require some nights, weekends and Holidays.

Basic Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Journeyman electrical license in state you are employed
2 years Commercial and /or industrial experience
Essential Qualifications:
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Ability to stand, crawl, and climb ladders to heights of up to 20 feet for extended periods.
Work with hands and arms above their head for an extended period of time.
Ability to work in all-weather environments: extreme heat, extreme cold, snow, rain, noise, hazards and atmospheric conditions (fumes, odor, dust, mist or poor ventilations) indoors, and outdoors
Preferred Qualifications:
Good conduit bending skills.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence using computer.
Ability to work independently and apply common sense understanding to complete detailed written or oral instructions.
