Description:

  • Reporting to the Director Behavioral Health, the Psych Social Worker, under minimal supervision, prepares social histories and evaluations of psychiatric patients psycho social needs based on data obtained in interviews with patients and families.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares social histories and evaluations of psychiatric patients psycho social needs based on data obtained in interviews with patients and families

  • Participates in formulating effective treatment and discharge plans

  • Counsels patients and families on problems related to current hospitalization, and those anticipated post discharge.

  • Focuses on assessing the family's role in current illness and optimizing their contribution to patient's recovery.

What you will need

  • Masters Degree in social work

  • State of Maryland LCSW or LCSW-C licensure.

  • 2 years of experience working with acute psychiatric patients
