Description:

  • Full-Time (Monday – Friday – 7:00 am – 3:30 pm)

  • Location: Germantown, MD

  • Employee Health Department

  • This position reports to reports to the Supervisor of Environment of Care & Safety

  • Inspects work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with company, state, and federal safety policies and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for documenting safety inspections, citing dangerous areas/procedures and recommending corrective procedures, and maintaining safety equipment supply and availability for all hospital facilities.

  • Monitors work practices and procedures for compliance with health and safety requirements. Recommends corrective action.

  • Assures that the occupational safety health, environmental management (may include emergency management) needs of the organization are properly assessed and effectively addressed.

  • Ensures the scheduling and completion of fire drills as required by NFPA, the Joint Commission, and authorities having jurisdiction.

What you will need:

Required:

  • Knowledge of occupational safety and health and environmental compliance laws, regulations, and standards.

  • Minimum of three years' experience in the implementation of occupational safety and health and environmental compliance programs.

  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in the sciences biology, chemistry, physics, or engineering disciplines preferred.

  • Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.
