North American Stainless AP Project Engineer in GHENT, Kentucky
AP Project Engineer. Monitor key operating parameters to ensure consistency with production rates and quality of stainless steel production. Review the quality and production rates for all annealing and pickling lines for stainless steel production and coordinate with maintenance and technical department engineers with respect to adverse line conditions and material defects. Troubleshoot problems with chemical manufacturing processes involved in stainless steel production. Develop continuous improvement projects based on the analytical review of historical data of chemicals used in manufacturing of stainless steel and other factors. Assist in managing unit costs for the annealing and pickling lines and water treatment facilities, including cost of chemicals used in the process and other matters. Manage and develop safety procedures for the annealing and pickling process group for employees working in areas of the plant where ongoing chemical reactions are taking place. Evaluate chemical processes using in stainless steel production to optimize performance and ensure compliance with safety and environmental requirements. Assist in managing appropriate inventory levels for all annealing and pickling lines and supporting unit consumables. Assist in managing the operations of all water treatment facilities to insure all operations are within standard operating limits and output of water standards necessary to avoid environmental incidents. A bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering is required. Proficiency in testing and analyzing different formulations of products to lower costs as shown by three months of experience in this area is required. Proficiency in conducting product improvement studies as shown by three months of experience in this area is required. Pre- or post-degree experience in developing these skills is acceptable, including experience during or as part of academic studies. Job located at 6870 Highway 42E, Ghent, KY 41045.
