Siemens Energy Procurement Specialist/Buyer (onsite) in Gibsonton, Florida

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR DAY

As a Procurement Specialist/buyer, you will focus on the tactical execution of procurement strategies set forth by Siemens Energy – Vanes & Blades Tampa and also act as a strategic buyer! You will develop and implement sourcing strategies and complete negotiations for the assigned material field, which will allow you to develop the skills to become a specialist in tactical execution, expediting, strategic negotiations, and supply chain performance management.

As a critical member of the team performing day-to-day operations of the procurement function, you will be part highly motivated team with a can-do mindset, helping and supporting each other. You will take on short-term/daily issues and create huge value for our factories and customers!

HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Be the main interface within procurement and to your suppliers for your assigned procurement scope.

  • Develop and implement supply strategies that are aligned with Blades and Vanes' requirements.

  • Commercially evaluate proposals and conduct negotiations; collaborate with technical colleagues to support discussions/clarifications.

  • Contribute to the cost reduction targets related to the direct supply of materials, products, and services.

  • Work closely and collaboratively with internal partners (Procurement, Engineering, Project Management, etc.) to support all procurement aspects for successful execution.

  • Analyzes material availability, and leads purchase orders including tracking and checking of content to ensure cost-efficient/timely supply of materials according to demand.

  • Understand the MRP/ERP functions and rules to continuously commit to system improvements (usage, accuracy, compliance, etc.) and develop integration with the manufacturing processes.

  • Defining opportunities to improve the flow of material and value through the supply chain and improve overall purchasing efficiency.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Procurement, Business, Engineering, or related field.

  • 5+ years of proven experience in procurement and material planning, with a strong background in MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and Purchasing and Supply Chain department operations.

  • Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.

  • Proficiency in navigating matrix multi-dimensional and international business environments.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey sophisticated and/or detailed information to multiple individuals with differing knowledge levels.

  • Demonstrated teamwork mentality with a customer-centric approach and adept time management abilities.

  • Proficient in SAP and other related tools used to lead daily position responsibilities.

  • Analytical ability and excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to travel 5% of the time domestically.

  • Must be legally authorized for employment in the United States. Qualified Applicants will not require employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in the United States.
