Description We are seeking a meticulous and skilled Controller to join our team in the Construction/Contractor industry based in GLENVIEW, Illinois. This role will involve managing and overseeing all facets of our accounting functions, including the use of Sage Accounting Software. The Controller will also be responsible for implementing and maintaining robust financial procedures and systems in line with industry best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all accounting functions including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.

• Utilize Sage Accounting Software to manage and maintain financial data.

• Ensure compliance with DCAA regulations and standards.

• Implement and manage ADP - Financial Services for payroll processing, particularly for unionized workers.

• Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities, including revenue/expense and balance sheet reports.

• Coordinate and lead the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report any significant budgetary discrepancies.

• Implement and manage ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems to streamline accounting processes.

• Work closely with team members to ensure the accurate and timely processing of accounting data.

• Ensure all financial operations comply with federal and state laws.

• Continually evaluate accounting and internal control systems and make necessary changes to enhance and better the overall operation and function of the organization. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in a Controller position within the Construction/Contractor industry

• Proficiency in managing Accounting Functions is required

• Experience in handling Payroll - Union is a must

• Expertise in using Sage Accounting Software is necessary

• Must possess a deep understanding of Construction Accounting

• Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential

• Capable of managing and overseeing all fiscal and regulatory matters

• Must have the ability to develop strategies and plans for the long-term financial goals of the company

• CPA or relevant qualification is a plus

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and operationally about business, product, and technical challenges.
