JOB DESCRIPTIONWe are seeking an ambitious UI / UX Designer to create the next generation of user experiences across a wide variety of products including enterprise software, mobile apps, and smart home device UI. This position will be located at the Global Experience Design Studio in Golden Valley, Minnesota, just 10 minutes from downtown Minneapolis. Our team is nimble and agile with limited hierarchy and lots of ownership. We're looking for someone who is driven, passionate about user-centered design, and willing to get their hands dirty.In this position you will collaborate with other designers to create the future smart-home and smart-building technologies and experiences. You will work alongside Product Management, Marketing and Engineering Teams to deliver outstanding digital experiences across software, mobile apps, and on-device interfaces. The ideal candidate will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem-solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. This individual excels at providing both highly analytical and creative ideas to a design product. An ability to identify constraints, influence stakeholders, and design across hardware, software, and app is critical to this role.JOB DUTIES:Design fresh and engaging experiences for software, mobile apps, and on-device UI.Design for a multi-touchpoint experience that includes software, mobile apps, and on-device interfaces.Create wireframes and experience flow diagrams documenting the user journey and articulating the experience.Create design specification and supporting design documentation.Collaborate with other UI Designers, Software Engineers, and business stakeholders.Partner with product management and developers to find creative solutions to complex problems.Participate in user research including usability studies, qualitative research, ethnography, and design evaluation.Advocate and drive user-centered design principles across products and features.Clear understanding about how software, embedded UI, and hardware integrate and how the experience should reflect this interaction.Participate in creative concept processes and contribute to project vision and roadmap.Stay up to date and have a passion for customer experience and interaction design trends.Provide subject-matter expertise perspective and direction on new interactive technologies innovations as they apply to creating user experiences.YOU MUST HAVE:Bachelor's degree, Certification in UX Design or product design, or equivalent combination of education and experience.5 years of experience in UX design, interaction design, software and app design, information architecture, or similar position.Expertise in digital design tools (Illustrator, Figma, XD)Portfolio of relevant work (website or PDF acceptable)WE VALUE:Outstanding user experience design portfolioBachelors degree in human factors, psychology, user experience design or related degreeSome experience in user experience design, interaction design or human factorsProficient user experience design skills, e.g., customer journey map, experience diagramming, task analysis, workflow design, etcExperience with observational research and usability testingGraduate degree in user experience design, human factors, interaction design or related disciplineFluent with design sketching and prototyping tools, e.g., Adobe XD, Figma, MiroExperience with design trends, benchmarking, forecasting and concept creationExperience with project planning, scoping and execution in a phase-gate and/or agile environmentWHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU:Resideo is a large matrix organization, so this is a great opportunity to hone your skills around driving results across cross-functional teams.Work in a Hybrid setting (3 days in office, 2 days remote)Enjoy work-life balance with generous vacation time that can be scheduled with manager approval based on business priorities and personal needs, without pre-set maximums.Immediate eligibility for Resideo benefits, including Medical, Dental, Vision insurance and 401K.#LI-MH1ABOUT USResideo is a leading global provider of critical comfort and security solutions primarily in residential environments and distributor of low-voltage electronic and security products.
