Job Summary:

We have an immediate opening for a Centralized Field Engineering (CFE) Senior Systems Engineer to provide flight test support to the Global Hawk Ground Segment equipment at Grand Forks AFB.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Work with a small team to maintain integrated ground segment equipment during flight tests.

  • Perform maintenance and upgrades as well as troubleshoot problems.

  • Install and troubleshoot experimental HW/SW.

  • Provide feedback to engineering and work with offsite engineering in a collaborative manner.

  • Troubleshooting will include industry standard IT systems as well as program specific hardware, software, and procedures.

  • Work closely with customer representatives to provide status and integrate customer changes.

Minimum Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, bend, and move through a normal range of motion to perform maintenance actions including lifting, holding, and maneuvering items weighing in excess of 40 lbs on a routine basis.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Security Clearance on day one.

  • 5 years system administration experience.

  • 5 years Linux system administration.

  • Microsoft Windows system administration experience (Windows 10 and Windows Server, Active Directory, Certificate authority, IIS, LAPS).

  • Familiarity with DISA cyber operations.

  • Basic experience/understanding of Ethernet routing and switching.

  • General knowledge OSI model of network communications from physical to application layer.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Linux/Unix: BASH/CSHELL.

  • WAN Networking, long haul links, VOIP, and data communications.

  • Understanding of RF satellite communication principals.

  • Experience with BASH, Powershell and Windows Shell scripting.

  • Any direct software development experience in Java, C/C++, and/or Python.

  • System administration experience in integrated Windows and Linux environments: CIFS, Samba, Domain integration.

  • RSA authentication, PKI authentication, Linux PAM.

  • ESXi/vSphere – Virtual Machine Management.

  • SAN management: FC, iSCSI, LUNs.

  • Experience administering SolarWinds. Building reports and dashboards, Postgres, MySQL or other general DB management.

  • McAffee Host based security, HBSS, ESS, ACAS.

  • Any familiarity with Global Hawk or other DoD UAS programs.

  • Experience with NSA encryptors, KG-175D, KG-250X, KG-255XFC.

  • Experience or familiarity with HVAC, UPS systems, diesel generators a plus.

TRAVEL: CONUS/OCONUS travel may be required.

WORKWEEK: Non-standard work week, overtime/weekends/shift work possible

Education: Typically requires a University Degree and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
