Job Summary This position reports directly to the Scheduler. The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for directing material and products throughout the facility, verifying and maintaining records on incoming and/or outgoing shipments using FileMaker and Job Pack software's, and coordinating incoming and outgoing shipments. This job description is subject to change, and all Shipper/Receivers will be advised when changes are made. Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned) • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records. • Determines method of shipment. Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. • Packs parts for shipment and affixes shipping labels on packed cartons. Posts weight and shipping charges and affixes appropriate postage or UPS label. • Prepares parts for outside processing vendors. Maintains records of all component parts sent for outside processing. All items being sent are properly identified and counted. • Communicated directly with outside vendors regarding shipments and P.O.'s. • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items and records shortages. • Routes items received and in-process material and products to appropriate departments. • Updates appropriate fields in FileMaker and Job Pack. • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies. • Operates lift truck or hand truck to move materials from shipping/receiving area to appropriate storage or work area.
