Job Title: Civil Roadway Design Engineer

Job Description

The Civil Roadway Design Engineer will specialize in transportation roadway design and engineering. They will join a multidisciplinary team of engineers and be responsible for roadway design, drainage design and calculations, and the preparation of construction documents and plans. Projects will include a variety of municipal and roadway projects.

Related Responsibilities & Experience Include:

• Roadway geometric design

• Drainage design

• Traffic design and traffic staging plans

• Construction plans, specifications, and bid documents for roadway and highway projects for MDOT and local municipalities agency standards

• Utility coordination and relocation

• Storm water drainage design

• Programs including MicroStation, InRoads, AutoTurn, Civil 3D, Roundabout

Must Have Qualificaitions

• Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering

• EIT or PE License

• 3+ years of experience in roadway design and drainage design for local municipalities or public DOT roadway / highway projects

• Experience preparing construction plans, construction documents, and specifications

• Experience with MicroStation, Bentley InRoads, AutoTURN, Roundabout, or Civil 3D

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with an initial duration of 12 Month(s), then you will be brought on direct by the customer. Long term, full time position.

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Grand Rapids, Michigan and some days remote.

Work Environment

Multi-discipline, full-service client within the engineering industry that has project variety within multiple sectors including municipal, transportation, industrial/commercial, and private development. Offices across the state of Michigan, offering the ability to work at a local office with a day remote. Local office in Grand Rapids.
