BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

The DC operations Manager is responsible and held accountable for overseeing all Distribution Center operations with oversight of the DC Leads and Team Members. Primary focus will be on the warehousing operations, the VMI operations within the DC’s region, the facility and the VMI fleet compliance and maintenance. This position will also require a comprehensive manufacturing and distribution operations acumen, and the ability to develop, implement and manage the operational and logistical support necessary to achieve customer satisfaction. This position also requires analysis and leadership of all organizational processes related to operations, VMI, sourcing, procurement, and the ability to effectively collaborate with other functional areas to meet or exceed our customers’ expectations.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Develops, executes, and maintains tools as well as techniques required to evaluate impact of proposed schedule changes due to human, equipment and/or supply issues.

· Communicates and collaborates with the Director of Operation and the VP, VMI on all matters of providing products and services to the VMI customers.

· Responsible for DC operations of a 50,000 – 100,000 square foot facility with 30 – 50 associates and Leads.

· Works with the sales team and customers when a review of products and/or processes are necessary.

· Coordination and scheduling of the daily workflow of customer orders, branch transfers, production orders, and secondary processes to ensure on-time production and delivery.

· Collaborates with all departments to resource continual improvement projects (including Lean Kaizen Events), monitors the progress of continual improvement projects in AIS and meets regularly with champions, business owners and continual improvement professionals to stay abreast of all issues.

· Resolves problems plus enhances improvements associated with inventory flow plus production control within the DC.

· Ensures that all products (OEM, discreet & VMI) are delivered to our customer on time (99.95% OTD).

· Ensures all the inventory in their areas of operation is accounted for. Manages the adjustments and the distribution of goods to ensure accuracy and control.

· Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and associate’s performance utilizing established metrics and visual performance markers.

· Facilitate a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with laws and regulations.

· Executes smooth and efficient services that meet the expectations and requirements of customers and suppliers.

· Communicates customer issues with the operations team members and devises ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints.

· Ensure vehicle maintenance and DOT compliance are maintained and recorded

· Maintain a clean and safe facility. Responsible for communication and coordination with all vendors and contractors to ensure these goals are met.

· Manage the daily operations of the VMISS Team to provide best in class customer experience.

· Participate in corporate and divisional cross functional projects / meetings.

· Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.

· Performs in conjunction with the Director of Operations all administrative duties such as hiring, performance discussions and evaluations, PIP’s, terminations, etc.

· Visiting Customers and helping with customer engagement activities.

· Responsible in managing expenses to ensure adherence to monthly budget parameters and takes corrective action to ensure budget targets are achieved or not exceeded.

· Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Operations Management or minimum five years of warehouse management experience required.

· Minimum of ten years of management experience is required.

· Minimum of seven years of experience in service management or technical experience.

· Proven record of change management and results

Telework

Compensation starting at $60000 - $82000 depending on experience.

The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate’s relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
