J o b D e s c r i p t i o n JOB INFORMATION Job Description Name: Radiology Technologist/Lab Assistant Department: Radiology ORGANIZATION Approved Date: 5/3/23 Date Last Edited: 5/3/23 Job Category: Job Posting Title: Exemption Status: JOB SUMMARY The Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance to the Radiologist protocols. They follow established radiographic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety. The Clinic Radiology Tech also performs basic laboratory functions including phlebotomy and some basic lab testing. JOB FUNCTIONS Essential Functions (primary responsibilities of the position in order of importance) Job Responsibilities % TIME 1. Performs general imaging that may include specialty imaging such as Orthopedics 25% 2. Position imaging equipment and adjust techniques as appropriate to patient body habitus 25% 3. Perform phlebotomy and basic lab testing as ordered by providers 25% 4. Record, process, and maintain patient data within the electronic medical record and PACs System 10% 5. Completes all image processing procedures and QC testing. Follows Radiologist protocols to ensure images are of diagnostic quality 5% 6. Use radiation safety measures and protection devises to comply with government regulations to ensure the safety of patients and staff 5% 7. Communicates with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment of patients\' understanding and address any questions or concerns 5% Required for All Jobs 1. Performs other duties as assigned 2. Complies with all policies and standards of position, department, and organization. 3. Complies with HIPAA for the protection of patient and confidential information. QUALIFICATIONS Education Education Level Education Details Required/ Preferred Graduation Accredited or approved program in Radiological Technology Required Work Experience Experience Experience Details Required/ Preferred 1 year Current clinical experience in diagnostic radiology. Clinical student experience may be considered in lieu of one year of current clinical experience. Preferred 3 months Phlebotomy and basic lab testing. Training to be included.
