VF Corporation Network Engineer in Greensboro, North Carolina

The Network Engineer candidate will responsible for the implementation and management of infrastructure involving a global network. This person will need to be able to provide clear written/verbal communications to management and users. The network engineer will be a primary contributor in the implementation and support of the global corporate network infrastructure to meet growth, service reliability requirements and problem management. Network engineer responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing aspects of the network infrastructure to support data, voice, video and security, provide daily level 2 and 3 support for resolving network/security related issues.

  • Performing on-going optimization of the network to ensure adequate capacity, availability and scalability.

  • Conducting regular network maintenance, including updating software and hardware.

  • Providing daily level 2 and 3 support for resolving network/security related issues.

  • Presenting solutions and makes recommendations to departmental leadership.

  • Documenting network configurations, processes, and procedures.

  • Daily Incident Management responsibilities will include troubleshooting network device issues, documenting troubleshooting steps and providing status updates to management.

  • Participate in the Change Management process to include creating new change request, reviewing submitted change forms, verify submitted change request information is complete, stage, and/or implement changes to network devices and update design documentation as required.

  • Ability to troubleshoot simple or complex issues and utilize available reference material to resolve issues as quickly as possible.

  • Providing network engineering support and training to other team members.

Requirements: Network Engineer Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related discipline or equivalent experience required

  • 5 years of hands-on experience supporting midsize to large corporate networks

  • Experience providing 3rd Level support for routing/switching aspects of the network

  • Preferred Network certification(s) such as CCNA, CCNP

  • Experience with Cisco Routers/Switches/SDWAN/Wireless/Meraki and Arista Switching

  • Experience with Infoblox DNS

  • Understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies (routing/switching, BGP, EIGRP, Spanning-Tree) and QoS

  • Requires working knowledge of WAN topology and routing protocols

  • Organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage simultaneous projects

  • Requires on-call work

  • May require weekend or shift work

Hiring Range :

$92,000.00 USD - $115,000.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential : This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
