About the role

The Back-End Web Software Engineer III is essential for building the backbone of our applications, focusing on server-side logic, API integration, and optimizing for SEO and CMS performance. Your role will involve utilizing Java, .NET, Python, and AWS cloud services to develop scalable solutions, ensuring application security and efficiency. Collaboration is key, as your work underpins the seamless union of back-end systems with front-end interfaces.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop scalable and maintainable server-side logic for web applications and CMS integrations.

Lead API development and integration efforts, ensuring seamless data exchange between front-end systems and back-end services.

Collaborate with front-end developers and UX/UI designers to align back-end solutions with user experience goals.

Implement and oversee robust security measures, data protection practices, and compliance with data storage and processing regulations.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of back-end processes, including test-driven development, code reviews, and automated testing.

Address and resolve technical challenges, optimizing system performance for scalability and efficiency.

Stay current with emerging back-end technologies and best practices, advocating for their adoption where beneficial.

Ensure thorough documentation for back-end systems and APIs, facilitating maintenance and future enhancements.

Keep abreast of new technology developments.

Complete bug fixes.

All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Strong proficiency in key back-end languages, especially Java, .NET, Python and frameworks associated with them.

In-depth knowledge of server-side and static page rendering techniques, particularly in the context of NextJS applications for SEO enhancements.

Solid experience with database technologies, both SQL and NoSQL, and understanding of data modeling and management principles.

Familiarity with CMS platforms and their backend integration points, able to optimize for performance and scalability.

Experience with AWS cloud services, understanding how to deploy and manage applications in a cloud environment.

Proficient use of Git for version control and collaboration.

Understanding of secure coding practices and familiarity with authentication, authorization, and compliance standards.

Knowledge of Agile software development practices, with the ability to adapt to various project management methodologies.

Ability to complete moderately complex bug fixes.

Good oral and written communications skills.
