What you’ll do:

Do you love building best-in-class solutions that help solve consumer problems while providing smart energy management and excellent comfort? Eaton's Residential Connected Solutions (CS) Team is looking for a Cloud SW Architect who will lead the design and implementation of technical architecture for software solutions for consumer facing IoT applications. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of translating customer needs and business requirements to the right software architecture that is scalable and caters to cutting edge IoT solutions. Strong experience is taking the architecture to implementation in the IoT domain, involving multitude of devices with stringent near real-time requirements is required. The leader needs to provide strategic leadership on Innovation, solution definition to delivery, drive architecture and bring best-in-class software development and coding practices. The leader shall shape up the technology proposals with deep system understanding and strong consumer centricity, to make the CS portfolio rich, venture into new use cases and drive the best-in-class solutions. Mentoring a talented group of engineers to realise the vision through various ways, including peer reviews, pair programming is required. Collaborate with global product engineering teams, enterprise platform teams and internal stakeholders to lead solution development, with a strong intrapreneurial mindset. Lead / Co-lead / participate in business level architecture councils to define technology roadmaps for the Connected solutions software team. Perform technical reviews, including detailed design reviews. Help drive the roadmap and achieve leadership position in key focus areas on Next Generation Connected Solutions (Home Energy Management) and drive the strategy on Home as a grid through Eaton offerings.

"This role is for a suitable candidate who will define, develop and launch cloud and frontend solutions based on voice of customer and revenue goals. The candidate shall be a quick learner, adapts to fast paced technology landscape and evolving solution requirement. The candidate has to have high accountability and a strong quality mindset. Modern software devlopment pracices, experience(s) in SDLC for IoT solutions is required. Builds a solid rapport with global stakeholders and enhances accountability. Partners with multiple teams like Product Marketing, Product Owners, Eneterprise Platform teams, Machine Learning / Data Analysis teams, Cybersecurity teams, User Experience teams etc. and ensures the rapid adoption, contributing back and delivers results on time with right quality, performance and to scale. Establishes the urgency whenever needed and seeks quicker turnaround for the prioritized issues with utmost quality and documentation in terms of release notes, user guides and seeks the acceptance feedback from marketing. Develops the capabilities by reskilling team members and creating standard operating procedures to enable quicker time to market.

Qualifications:

Bachelors / Masters in Engg CS/IT or similar

•15+ years of overall experience including 6+ years of hands-on expertise in developing cloud software and mobile application for IoT systems

Skills:

IoT Cloud Software, Mobile Applicatio, IoT products development, DevSecOps

Developing architecture, technical proposals, stakeholder communication, process definition

•Strong process knowledge of IoT product development and integration of multiple sub-systems

•Knowledge of Data sceince and ML, with relevance to IoT software solutions

•Knowledge of azure PaaS or similar

•Knowledge of code management/versioning tools (Github, Bitbucket or similar); software documentation including SRS, SDS, release notes etc.

•Azure cloud certification"

•Stong technical knowledge in typescript, .net api cloud software development; significant exposure to mobile app development (react native)

•Experience in Rest APIs, node.js; IoT communication protocols (MQTT or similar protocols)

•Deep understanding of DevSecOps, automated CI/CT pipelines, enabling continuous deployment with cybersecurity

•Experience in Microsoft Azure (Function Apps, Functions, IoTHub etc.)

•Exposure / knowledge in modern software development practices like TDD (unit test frameworks, integration, perfromance, UI, functional testing)

•Thorough understanding of static code analysis and cybersecutiry scanning tools, their outputs and theirinterpretation, followed by suitable actions to develop high quality solution

•Experience working in Agile environments, translating broad requirements to actionable storypoints

•Excellent strategic intent, linking customer and business requirements to technology roadmap

•Proven track record of mentoring and coaching development team to adapt to architecture and develop strong coding practices Connected IoT products cutting across multiple functional domains

•Drives and promotes innovation in the team in order to create technical differentiators and new value propositions aligned with business goals. Provide growth opportunities and protect IP through patents and trade secrets

•Ensure Eaton stays abreast of new and emerging technologies to design and develop next-gen solutions

•Excellent communications skills, global exposure, high degree of aptitude, creativity is required.
