Eaton’s EPG CPD ICD Industrial Controls Division division is currently seeking a Engineering Manager ICD.

What you’ll do:

Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineering Leader is responsible to ensure process capacity, efficiency, flexibility, productivity and capability to meet financial targets and customer expectations. Drives continuous improvement, capital projects, drive changes and safety programs through professional engineers, cross functional leaders and factory indirect support personal.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Execution and deployment of the Continuous Improvement programs & tools (CIF, Lean, 6 Sigma).

  2. Leads Kaizens, Projects and Rapid Improvement Events (RIE) to improve productivity and operations cost savings.

  3. Learn and incorporates new manufacturing technologies and practices.

  4. Lead process changes and requirements defined by Customers, Quality, EHS (MOC) as needed.

  5. Responsible to build, lead and execute a capital investment plan based on operations strategy and profit plan.

  6. Responsible to supervise manufacturing engineers, assistants and technicians.

  7. Responsible for plant process Yield improvement and data management.

  8. Responsible to reduce plant Scrap & Rework cost to achieve CONC limits.

  9. Responsible to define and calculate manufacturing capacity based on demand (Manload) in a regular basis ensuring flexibility and efficiency of the operations.

  10. Responsible to create, define and update process standard work documentation, procedures and job safety analysis (JSA).

  11. Leads and promotes manufacturing lines safety, ergonomics and sustainability programs.

  12. Responsible for existing product and/or process transfers through Pro-Launch STP. Supports new product introduction and industrialization Pro-Launch NPI

  13. Responsible to provide engineering support to plant wide sub-process (such as: Welding, Deflashing, Automation Feeders)

  14. Supports product / process deviations and customer corrective actions.

  15. Supports process documentation update, training and implementation of controls as a result of pFMEAs, PPAPs, Process capability studies, 16. 16. Control

Plan, Work Instructions, Quality, Safety, Customer request.

  1. Design and develops plant manufacturing layout distribution and floor space optimization.

  2. Responsible for product labor content calculation (routing) update and configuration in the system

  3. Maintain and promote internal and external customer focus for all facility employees. Improve manufacturing performance through the utilization, training, and deployment of Eaton Business System tools.

Qualifications:

Educational Level Required

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical or related engineering area from an accredited institution

Years and area of experience required

  • 7 years of experience working in manfuacturing activities, product-process industrialization, quality, design and/or production.Additional studies and/or master-post grade degree in related areas preferred

Skills:

Technical Knowledge

  • Lean-Continuous Improvement (Lean trainer certified is a plus)

  • 6 Sigma / DMAIC / Problem solving (Certified 6Sigma is a plus)

  • Quality Auditor ISO 9001 (Certified Lead Auditor is a plus)

  • CAD- Solid Works

  • Statistics proficiency: MSA,GR&R, SPC, Capability (Minitab)

  • Project Management (PMP certified is a plus)

  • Safety practices/standards: machine guarding, ergonomics

  • Fully Bilingual: written and oral fluency in Spanish & English.
