The ContiTech group sector develops and manufactures, for example, cross-material, environmentally friendly and intelligent products and systems for the automotive industry, railway engineering, mining, agriculture and other key industries. Guided by the vision of “smart and sustainable solutions beyond rubber,” the group sector draws on its long-standing knowledge of the industry and materials to open up new business opportunities by combining various materials with electronic components and individual services.

This position is responsible for efficient and effective support of 1200+ servers (physical, and vitrual), and backup&recovery of said systems in 158 locations in the global environment of the Group Sector of ContiTech within currently 6 Business Areas. Various projects on central and local level need clear advise on network concepts, solution design, project realization and operation.

Your tasks include:

• Maintain documentation related to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records

• Schedule and perform installations and upgrades per established policies and procedures

• Support our Plants/Offices globally. Travel to these plants may be required

• Collaborate with network team to ensure smooth and reliable system and software for fulfilling business objectives and processes

• Monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports

• Support equipment in a Microsoft Windows/Linux environment

• Support existing VMware ESXi environment

• Work with Cloud Consultant to ensure off-site backups for D2D systems

• Resolve failed backup jobs and assist LITM with ad-hock backup, and restore requests

• Support Servers and workloads running in Azure/AWS

• Project Documentation & Tracking

• Academic degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or comparable qualification

• Several years of related experience managing large enterprise infrastructure/network environments, performing hardware and software server engineering, designing and implementing on-prem and cloud systems

• Experience working in large-scale server/storage environments

• Working knowledge of VMware and Windows Server is essential, Linux knowledge a plus

• Working knowledge of modern backup software and basic backup design concepts

• Working knowledge of patching software such as LANDesk and WSUS

• Experience working with Dell/HPE servers

• Experience supporting SAN/NAS systems in an enterprise environment

• Business fluent English and german language skills (spoken and written)
