The Department of Corrections (DOC), Harrisburg Community Corrections Center (CCC) is seeking individuals whose primary purpose is to provide care, custody, control, monitoring, and supervision of the re-entrant population housed at a state-operated community corrections center, If you want to leave work each day knowing you are serving the public by assisting in supporting the department's initiatives by preparing re-entrants for successful transition back into their families and the community, this is the position for you!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK As part of this role, your responsibilities will include ensuring the safety and security of CCC, keeping track of activities and monitoring reentrant behavior, conducting searches for prohibited items, managing inventory, controlling movement within the facility, conducting orientation and destination checks, administering tests, documenting behavior, issuing misconduct reports, facilitating successful release, performing inspections, assisting with center inspections, providing information and addressing needs or complaints, acting as a liaison for law enforcement, guiding new monitors, and participating in legal proceedings.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 40-hour work week. Community Corrections Centers are staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Salary:Beginning salary for this position is $38,348 annually. You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: There are no minimum experience and training requirements for this position.

Additional Requirements: Must be able to work in Dauphin, Pennsylvania. Ability to work different shifts or irregular scheduled hours. Ability to successfully complete 3 weeks of classroom training at the Department of Corrections Training Academy in Elizabethtown, PA. Preferred Qualifications (not required):

Two (2) years of experience performing public safety or security work. (Examples of qualifying experience include but are not limited to: public safety or security work involving protection of persons and/or property and maintaining required security through enforcement of rules, regulations and laws; public safety or security work in a correctional setting, juvenile or adult development/detention center, law enforcement entity, or military security experience). One (1) year of work experience providing direction/guidance to individuals. (Examples of qualifying work experience include but are not limited to: performing as a lead worker or supervisor assigning and evaluating work tasks, providing informal counseling, or giving orders in the Military).
