Description
Do you love sharing your passion for volleyball with others who are interested in learning about the sport? If so, the City of Harrisonburg Parks and Recreation Department's Youth Volleyball Instructor may be the right position for you!
The Youth Volleyball Instructor is a temporary, seasonal position (no benefits) with a preferred hiring range of $13.06 - $17.52 per hour. The Youth Volleyball Instructor:
Leads youth volleyball-related activities;
Maintains current knowledge of industry standards and their influence on desired outcomes;
Enforces rules and regulations;
Instructs and interacts effectively with individuals of all different ages and abilities;
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, program participants, and the general public.
Physical Requirements: This is light work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects; work requires balancing, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word, and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels, and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; visual acuity is required for depth perception, peripheral vision, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
Prior experience programming, planning, and leading volleyball instruction;
Knowledge of current volleyball teaching standards;
Availability to work Saturdays from 9:00am - 11:30am from February 29, 2020 to March 28, 2020.
Successful applicants for this position will be subject to a criminal background check and drug screening.
