Join The Hartford’s dynamic Treasury organization as a Treasury Compliance Consultant, reporting to the AVP & Assistant Treasurer. We’re looking for a driven professional who will maintain oversight of Treasury’s Compliance and Vendor Management functions. This individual will take charge in liaising with our compliance and audit partners to maintain a well-controlled environment that aligns with regulatory standards. Additionally, this individual will manage the relationship with our Treasury Management System provider.

T his role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in the Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday).

Responsibilities

Treasury Compliance

  • Provides direction/oversight of various Treasury compliance functions

  • Identifies, recommends, and assists in implementing appropriate risk mitigation strategies that ensure:

  • Segregation of duties within/across functional areas within Treasury

  • Appropriate control across the Treasury organization

  • Provides direction and/or support to various projects in support of process improvements, business partner initiatives, and risk mitigation

  • Identifies, recommends, and assists in implementing:

  • Effective and efficient strategies, policies, and processes related to treasury management

  • Opportunities for continuous improvement, increased efficiency/productivity, and best practices, while maintaining integrity of financial controls

  • Stays abreast of and proactively addresses new regulatory requirements

  • Ensures the Treasury organization has a robust, well tested, business resiliency plan

  • Provide department training on compliance policies and practices

Treasury Compliance

Treasury Management System (TMS) - Vendor Management

  • Develop and maintain a strong relationship with our TMS provider

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for inquiries, escalations, and issue resolution

  • Monitor vendor performance, adherence to SLAs, and contract compliance

  • Collaborate with Treasury teams to identify opportunities for improvement in the TMS and partner with the vendor to implement

  • Annually review the vendor’s Service Organization Controls reports to confirm they’re operating in a well-controlled environment

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent experience, MBA a plus

  • Certified Treasury Professional (CTP/CCM) preferred

  • Thorough knowledge of banking, cash management, and insurance products and terminology

  • Knowledge of current and emerging technologies related to cash management and the banking industry

  • 10+ years experience in Treasury, Compliance, Audit, or Risk Management

  • Demonstrates skills, knowledge and understanding of insurance, products, and services

  • Knowledge of vendor management best practices

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
