Corewell Health Aquatics Fitness Instructor in Hastings, Michigan

Job Summary

This position is responsible for designing, teaching, and instructing fitness classes held at a Spectrum Health wellness center or other facility. Instructor certification required when applicable to specialty area.

Essential Functions

  • Be prepared for each class.

  • Start and finish each class on time, allowing ample time to greet and follow up with participants.

  • Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with each participant.

  • Communicate with customers and coworkers in order to ensure the highest level of service and customer experience.

  • May teach individual one on one classes (or) offsite classes as appropriate and directed.

  • Greets customers internal and external with a smile, direct eye contact, and a pleasant professional voice; gives full attention until the transaction is completed; willing to change to meet your customer's needs; explains his/her role/expectations to his/her customers; connects customers properly to the resources they need. Tells customers what should happen next. Acknowledges service problems (No excuses or blames apologizes for their dissatisfaction; acknowledges customer's feelings). Learns about/from service problems (Listens; Talks; Learns). Acts on service problems (Addresses customer's concerns; designs better solutions; follows up, as needed).

Qualifications

  • Required High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 2 years of relevant experience instruction of the specific designated class area. Preferred

  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 60 Days required Or

  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 60 Days required
