    Job Summary

This nine-month, teaching-track position requires active participation on a team responsible for the growth and development of a university Kinesiotherapy program. Qualified faculty are expected to teach undergraduate courses in the Kinesiotherapy degree program and develop a programmatic line of research leading to refereed publications in professional journals, presentations at professional conferences, and external funding for research and program development. Participation in program, school, university and national/state professional organizations is required. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teaches undergraduate students in a variety of courses in Kinesiotherapy. Teaching includes preparation of course materials such as syllabi, course content, homework assignments, and handouts; evaluation and grading of students’ class work, assignments, and papers; maintaining student attendance records, grades, and other required records; and holding regularly scheduled office hours in order to assist students.

  • Provides academic advisement and faculty mentorship to undergraduate students.

  • Participates in service at a variety of levels, including program, school, college, university and community service.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Masters degree at the time of appointment in Kinesiotherapy or a related discipline. Acquired skill in teaching clinical assessment and treatment techniques including but not limited to: manual muscle testing, goniometric measurement, exercise for impaired muscle function, PNF techniques, gait analysis, etc. If the applicant holds a masters degree, a minimum of 5 years of recent clinical experience, as a Kinesiotherapist or in a related discipline using Kinesiotherapy principles, is required. If the applicant holds a clinical doctorate (e.g. DPT, OTD) or terminal degree (e.g. PhD, EdD), no documented clinical experience is required, but is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Specialized knowledge in the field of Kinesiotherapy as demonstrated by graduate level coursework or professional experience is required.

  • Candidates should possess qualities of effective leadership.

  • Candidates should have the ability to deliver accurate, concise and quality communication (verbal and written) in a timely manner.

  • Candidates should have the ability to work collaboratively on interdisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Status as a Registered Kinesiotherapist. Research, teaching, and/or service activity that demonstrates commitment to diversity and inclusion. Experience working with national professional organizations. Experience teaching in both online and traditional classroom environments. Professional work experience as a kinesiotherapist in a healthcare setting above the minimum qualifications. Evidence of strong administrative and managerial skills. Experience with the initial accreditation and re-accreditation of health profession degree programs.
