Job Summary
The SEO Editor is responsible for assuring search engine optimization for website content. This includes content adjustments monthly due to Google’s search engine algorithm changes. The SEO Editor also creates, edits, produces, and publishes various content including material for departmental websites, and student recruitment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Uses keyword research tools to develop content optimized for and easily indexed by search engines.
Maintains website content utilizing analytics and content evaluation
applications to determine the effectiveness of implemented content strategies.
Works with web developer to ensure the website content is WCAG 2.0 AA and Section 508 accessibility compliant.
Works with representatives of programs to create a strategy for keywords, blog posts, press releases and other written marketing materials that are optimized for Google ranking.
Creates, edits, produces, and publishes various digital content including
materials for departmental websites and student recruitment.
- Assists with marketing and recruitment material production including print,
multimedia and video as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field and 3 to 5 years related SEO experience and/or training. Understanding of search engine optimization strategies for the current Google search ranking algorithm. The ability to create content that helps an overall site wide ranking strategy.

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or equivalent in related field. Five years’ experience in SEO strategies. Expertise in SEO tools such as MOZ and Google search console. Experience in higher education marketing or recruiting. Experience optimizing SEO strategies through A/B testing.
