What You'll Do:

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Operations Manager to join our team in Hazleton, PA.

The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality standards are met or exceeded.

This role requires strong leadership abilities, exceptional organizational skills, and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes.

How You'll Do It:

  • Responsible for overall operations at an assigned plant including, but not limited to, supply management, production scheduling, manufacturing, shipping, warehouse, maintenance, people management, and implementation of change initiatives.

  • Manages effective health & safety and all related compliance, quality assurance standards and training and development of assigned staff. Develops and manages budget for site operations

  • Builds a safety culture and drives the implementation of safety policies and training in compliance with the company safety program and OSHA regulations to eliminate work-related injuries. 

  • Sets up a review process to analyze production, quality control, maintenance and operational data to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems. 

How You'll Do It Cont.d:

  • Confers with managers to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget, and cost controls, and obtain necessary data on customer orders and delivery. 

  • Plans, monitors and directs production and establish priorities, balancing effective customer service and cost factors and optimizing utilization of people and equipment within a just-in-time environment. 

  • Develops and implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality and safety. 

  • Oversees the revision of product schedules and priorities as a result of equipment failure or operating problems and consult with Engineering on equipment modification and other continuous improvement efforts. 

  • Supervises schedules and evaluates the work performance of direct and indirect reports.

  • Fosters positive working relationships and responds proactively to performance concerns; discipline; employee complaints, concerns, or problems; and other employee relations matters. Ensures consistency in the application of Company policies and procedures. 

  • Partners with Regional Operations Leaders to manage the profitability for the plant. Active Champion of all quality and lean initiatives. 

What You'll Bring:

Required:

Seasoned Expertise: A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated proficiency in manufacturing, supply chain management, materials management, logistics, and quality control, with a track record spanning 5 to 10 years.

Extensive Safety and Risk Acumen: A proven history of over 5 years in safety and risk management, ensuring a secure and compliant operational environment.

Mastery of Lean Manufacturing: Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing principles, with a strong preference for candidates holding certification.

Educational Background: Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience showcasing a comprehensive knowledge base and skill set.

Leadership in Manufacturing: Experience leading a two-shift operation with over 200 personnel in plants, with a keen eye for overseeing plant operations efficiently.

Critical Leadership Experience: Previous involvement in pivotal leadership roles is essential.

Your Work Environment:

  • Onsite Role: This position requires presence in the plant environment to oversee operations effectively.

  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, adhering to a schedule from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm EST.

  • Night Shift Availability: Occasionally, flexibility is required to work night shifts from 7:00 pm to 3:00 am EST as operational demands dictate.

  • Saturdays may also be required occassionally as well.

Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
