With a doctrine of service, honor, and justice, this statewide organization provides the best in critical, accurate, and timely service to protect our citizens. * * Job Overview: This position is aCriminal Investigator(ICAC/ Cybercrime) in the Crime Information Bureau with Division of Criminal Investigation. The incumbent is responsible for the investigation of cybertips, Peer 2 Peer investigations, undercover operations, overt investigations, cyber fraud, ransom ware, intrusion and community awareness. The Investigator will be responsible to identify suspects and obtain Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). The incumbent will interview suspects involving child exploitation and cybercrime and will be responsible to prepare subpoenas and search warrants for property, Electronic Service Providers and electronic devices. The incumbent will also be assigned to assist and work closely with other law enforcement agencies and affiliates assigned to the Montana ICAC Task Force. There may be extensive travel involved both in and out of state, sometimes several days in a row. THIS POSITION LOCATION MAY BE LOCATED OUTSIDE OF HELENA, BUT WITHIN THE STATE OF MONTANA. Minimum Qualifications: * High school diploma. * Three years of criminal, investigative, or law-enforcement experience. * Firearms’ training is mandated for peace officer requirements and liability. * Current POST Law Enforcement Basic Certificate (or equivalent from another state) required. * Must meet eligibility requirements for the POST Law Enforcement Intermediate Certificate. * Valid driver’s license. * Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. * *Special Requirements: * Work online in an undercover capacity. * View child explicit material. * Prepare and conduct school and community presentations. * Complete extensive training and certification related to internet crime investigations. Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, or closely related with coursework in criminal justice field from an accredited college or university. * Five (5) years of investigative experience with a minimum of two (2) years as a full-time investigator handling a variety of felony investigations comparable to those a state agent is expected to handle.
