VMware HR Management Partner (Manager Coach) - Opportunity for Working Remotely in Herzliya, Israel

What is primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?

Managers are the critical link between employees and their employer. They set the foundation for how an employee experiences a Company, are the primary reason an employee stays with or leaves their employer and are responsible for driving business results through their teams and team members. Building stronger manager and leadership capability and effectiveness means building improved business performance and shareholder value.

Growing manager and leadership capabilities will ensure that VMware is best positioned to hire, develop, engage and retain the most innovative and productive employees, driving higher performance and shareholder value than our business competitors. To propel this need, we have strategically aligned a global team of HR Management Partners to provide coaching, guidance, and performance support to all our people managers.

Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

  • Partner with managers at all levels through individual and group coaching engagements

  • An aggregate improvement in Manager Effectiveness survey scores over time

  • Reduction in the number of employees who voluntarily resign from VMware primarily based on their manager’s capability as measured through an exit survey

  • Lower incidence of Employee Relations cases related to “poor” manager capability, including higher quality outcomes of performance improvement plans

  • Higher quality manager journey/experience including ease of accessibility, consistency, and integration with related processes, programs, and solutions

  • Stronger correlation of strong managers with employee performance, productivity, and goal achievement

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

  • Quickly build trust and be a trusted advisor to challenge leaders to accelerate their growth and development in support VMware’s goal of being a company that develops great leaders

  • Partner with people managers at all levels with their growth and development to help them become more effective leaders and managers

  • Partner with managers in the areas of company-wide and local people programs at the thought partnership level

  • Through coaching, be integral in performance management, goal setting, talent planning and help facilitate calibration sessions

  • Participate in project work partnership with various HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) in the design, development and implementation of people programs

  • Coach managers through people related issues as well as VMware processes

  • Guide managers with policy interpretation and application

  • Facilitate manager on-boarding for new and first time promoted managers

  • Work with senior leaders on their respective people plans, including hiring, diversity and inclusion plans

  • Partner with other HR functions and internal resources to execute corporate-wide people initiatives

  • Provide partnership and insight to the HR Business Partners, HR leadership and COEs aligned with overall HR and business strategies

  • Identify trends or concerns in organization health such as business, external or geographic influences

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?

Reporting directly to a Director of HR Management Partners in the EMEA, this individual contributor role at VMware provides direct HR coaching and partnership to people managers from front-line through senior leaders. You can make a difference in our managers and other HR Management Partner team members. You will be part of the EMEA HR Management Partner’s team that also spans the globe with an over 40-member extended team community. The team has a solid foundation in collaboration, building skills through global projects, and group coaching circles.
