Actalent Controls Engineer in High Point, North Carolina
The primary responsibility of this position is to execute as the North American machine set up personnel (SV), increase Operation Availability (OA) through continuous improvement and problem-solving technical issues. This role will also support the Battery department's objective to execute Capital Projects from planning through Start of Production (SOP). Desired characteristics include perseverance, curiosity for enrichment learning, self-motivation, good communication skills, and humility. The candidate must navigate complex problem-solving at the regional level, decide appropriate work priorities, develop and execute schedules for said priorities, and report their status to the management group.
Hard Skills
PLC programming experience
Servo Motors troubleshooting
Electrical or wire troubleshooting
Test and repair electrical equipment or systems (circuits, relay logic, wiring, motors, servo drives, etc.)
Write, program, troubleshoot, modify and/or repair programmable logic controllers, robotics, cameras, and other electronic equipment
Troubleshoot and repair safety systems, machine components hydraulic and pneumatic
Plan and execute machine integration into mass production
Documentation of work performed
Problem-solving and continuous improvement
Project planning with Engineering
Certify Safety of Equipment per MMR/MMS (NFPA79 and standards)
Work Environment
100% Onsite with 30% travel, including domestic and international trips to Japan for meetings, technical observations, and hands-on work after 3 months of hire. Requires steel-toe boots. Must be available for overtime, holidays, weekends, and shutdowns.
