Intel's Corporate Quality Network is seeking engineers for work in Quality and Reliability of semiconductor devices across a variety of areas of expertise. Technology Development Quality and Reliability (QnR) Engineering is a fast paced, dynamic environment requiring decision making at the strategic and tactical levels. The impact of QnR decisions on silicon, package and technology development makes the QRE position one of responsibility and high visibility.

As the D1 Quality and Reliability Engineer you will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Helps to develop quality systems for new technologies to detect, contain, and screen discrepant wafers from the fab process.

  • Performs audits against quality standards for partner organizations in the fab and other Quality and Reliability teams.

  • QnR assessments of Intel silicon or silicon/package interactions on Intel's leading-edge technologies currently under development.

  • Summarize key messages for senior management reviews.

  • Provide project management, product, process design/development and sustaining support for integrated circuit or semiconductor assemblies, various other electronic components, sub systems and/or completed units.

  • Develop cost effective production monitoring and screening schemes to ensure process is stable and products meet committed quality and reliability performance.

Qualifications

The candidate must possess at least one of the following degree(s) plus the years of experience determined for each of the areas specified below.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Material Science Engineering, and Physics or a related field of study and 2+ years of experience in a semiconductor environment.

OR

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Material Science Engineering, and Physics or a related field of study and 3+ years of experience in a semiconductor environment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Electrical, Chemical, Material Science Engineering, and Physics or a related field of study.

  • Experience with Quality Management tools (FMEA, SPC, change control, etc.) and quality control standards.

  • 2+ years technical experience in Semiconductor industry

  • Experienced in model-based problem solving.

  • Transistors, interconnects, dielectrics, semiconductor packaging, early life failure, and device, system, and oduct reliability.

  • Semiconductor testing and the implications of new packaging technologies to test methods and hardware.

  • Physics of failure and reliability assessment methods (experimental and model-based).

  • Knowledge (coursework or projects/internships) that used statistics and data analysis, and related software tools such as Excel, JMP, R, C#, and Python.

  • Experimental design, execution, and interpretation.

  • Knowledge about transistors, interconnects, dielectrics, semiconductor packaging, early life failure, device, system, and/or product reliability.

  • Knowledge about Semiconductor testing, test methods, and hardware.

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
