The Medicare Market Senior Analyst will report to the Senior Manager of Medicare Business Analytics. The Analyst will provide competitive intelligence related to the Medicare Program, including analysis of pricing, enrollment, benefit and Star Rating trends in the local Massachusetts as well as the overall national Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement and Medicare Prescription Drug (PDP) markets. The Analyst will be part of team of Analysts and will work collaboratively to ensure the overall needs of the team are met or exceeded. The Analyst will produce analysis and dashboard reporting specific to the Medicare market as well as in support of other business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain competitive landscape and market position reporting.

  • Collaborate with leaders in Medicare Strategy, Medicare Product and Medicare Customer Experience to document business requirements for report requests, process changes, and system enhancements.

  • Define criteria and specifications, program and execute data extraction, validate and document results, deliver output and summarize observations.

  • Interpret data to identify best practices, variations and trends impacting product positioning, plan design and the member experience.

  • Provide root cause analysis, identify scope, quantify impacts, and develop recommendations to senior leadership in support of strategic considerations and operational efficiencies.

  • Conduct consultative engagements to internal business partners to develop appropriate analytic plans within defined timelines.

  • Facilitate workgroups and champion process improvements to meet business performance goals.

  • Provide technical assessment to identify any analytical gaps and recommend solutions.

  • Develop and monitor key performance metrics and provide recommendations to support strategic business goals.

  • Represent business analytics on internal and external teams and workgroups.

  • Act as a subject matter expert of the overall Medicare market.

  • Act as a mentor to team members and foster a culture of inclusion.

Qualifications (Knowledge, skills and abilities):

  • Expert in Excel, MS Access and PowerPoint.

  • Proficiency in SAS or SQL preferred, Tableau a plus.

  • Experience with large datasets including Enterprise Data Warehousing.

  • Experience with process automation preferred.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail, delivering quality results and operating collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Must have exceptional analytical skills in order to identify and communicate key observations and quantify impacts.

  • Ability to present findings to varied audiences.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and balance competing priorities.

  • Self-directed, proactive, and desire to continually improve analytic skillset.

  • Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional business environment.

  • Ability to translate customer requirements into specifications an recommend an analytic approach and summarize relevant findings.

  • Understanding of healthcare data reporting and the healthcare industry preferred.

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.

  • 3 - 5 years of data analytics or related experience.

  • Experience in healthcare analytics.

  • Medicare Advantage experience a plus.

  • Overall Medicare experience preferred
